Banners/recommendations
What Banners or product recommendations for your webshop or self-order terminal (SOT) can be created and managed in the Admin to draw attention to specific promotions or products. Where Admin: Incentives > Banners/recommendations. |
Banners and recommendations can be added yourself for the webshop version 2 and self-order terminal (SOT).
For the webshop version 1, the fields for this must be created by us, so the use of banners is only possible for individual webshops (for normal webshops, these settings are also available in the admin, but have no effect).
Adding a banner
To add a banner/recommendations, first go to Admin: Incentives > Banners/recommendations.
Then click on "Add banner".
You can then choose from various display types, which are described in more detail below:
Display types:
Banners: Large advertising images or notices that are displayed on the homepage or in categories. They are often used to promote promotions or products.
Product group slider: A scrollable (slider) display of product categories (commodity groups) to give customers an overview of available commodity groups.
Recommend item to shopping cart: Recommendation function that suggests additional products to the customer while they are viewing the shopping cart.
Recommend item after adding to shopping cart: Similar to the previous function, but the recommendations appear directly after a defined item is added to the shopping cart (e.g. "You might also like...").
SOT/Kiosk start screen: The main display of a self-order terminal (SOT), where customers can place orders themselves. Here you can specify which content or products appear on the start page. An image or video can be added.
SOT banner: Clickable advertising or product banners specifically for self-order terminals to draw customers' attention to offers or specific products.
Banners
To create a banner, select "Banner" under "Display".
Example banner:
Input fields:
Description: Internal title for administration. The flag symbol (e.g. 🇩🇪) can be used to enter content for multiple languages.
Banner image/mobile banner image: An image is uploaded here in the format: .jpg, .png or .gif
Recommended dimensions:

- Width: 2000 px

- Height: 500 px

- Resolution: 72 dpi
Link: Target URL or reference to webshop content.
Content (editor): Free text or HTML content (only used for webshop version 1).
Stores: Selection of the stores in which the banner is to be displayed.
Show in shopping cart: Activation via slider so that the banner is displayed in the shopping cart.
Commodity groups: Selection of the commodity group for which the banner is to be displayed. Multiple selection is also possible. The banner appears above the products in the selected commodity groups.
Show in commodity group preview: Activation via slider so that the banner is displayed in the commodity group preview. The selected stores are not included in the commodity group preview.
Can be combined with all valid banners: If activated, the banner is displayed with all other valid banners that can be combined. If deactivated, the banner is randomly selected and displayed from all other valid banners that cannot be combined.
Validities: Limitation of the banner to a specific date/time window. If no selection is made, the banner is not displayed.
Finally, click on "Save".
Product group slider
A product group slider shows a scrollable (slider) display of product categories (commodity groups).
To create a product group slider, select "Product group slider" under "Display".
The setting options are as described above under "Banner". There is additional the option to set a "Background image/mobile background image".
Recommend items to shopping cart
Here you can select items to be suggested as product recommendations in the shopping cart.
To recommend items in the shopping cart, select "Recommend item to shopping cart" under "Display".
Input fields:
Desctiption: Internal title for administration. The flag symbol can be used to enter content for several languages.
Stores: Selection of the stores in which the banner is to be displayed.
Show in shopping cart: Is activated by default, as the recommendation is displayed in the shopping cart.
Recommend item: The items that are to be suggested as product recommendations are entered here. Please ensure that all settings for the selected items are correct, as these will affect the visibility of the display.
Show notice: A note is displayed if the customer does not yet have an item from the recommendation in their shopping cart. This setting only works if the extra shopping cart page is activated.
Display starting from order value: The recommendation is only displayed from the specified order value.
Increase the maximum number of items per x EUR order value by 1: The maximum number stored for the item is not exceeded. The item can always be added to the shopping cart at least once.
Validities: Limitation to a specific date/time window. If no selection is made, the product recommendation is not displayed.
Recommend item after adding to shopping cart
The recommendations appear here directly after a defined item has been added to the shopping cart.
To recommend an item after it has been added to the shopping cart, select "Recommend item after adding to shopping cart" under "Display".
Example recommendation:

Stores: Selection of the stores in which the banner is to be displayed.
Title: The title that is displayed to the customer for the product recommendation is entered here. The flag symbol can be used to enter content for several languages.
Recommend item: The item to be suggested as product recommendations are entered here. Please make sure that all settings for the selected items are correct, as these affect the visibility of the display.
Note: If no items and no commodity groups are selected, the display will be shown for all items by default.
Display for item: If required, select specific items for which the product recommendation should appear. Example: If you select "French fries" here and the customer adds "French fries" to the shopping cart, the corresponding product recommendation will be displayed.
Displays for commodity groups: Here you can specify the commodity group for which the product recommendation should be displayed. The product recommendation then appears for all items within the selected commodity group.
Validities: Limitation to a specific date/time window. If no selection is made, the product recommendation is not displayed.
SOT/kiosk start screen
An image or video can be stored here for the main display of a self-service terminal (SOT).
To create a self-service terminal/kiosk start screen, "SOT/kiosk start screen" is selected under "Display".
Example of a background image on the start screen, animations are also possible:
Input fields:
Description: Internal title for administration. The flag symbol can be used to enter content for multiple languages.
Stores: Selection of the stores in which the banner is to be displayed.
Start screen (max. 50 MB): An image or video can be uploaded here. A video should have the following format: 1080px x 1920px.
Use for the slideshow: Activation via slider. If activated, the file is displayed with all other valid images/videos. For optimal display, all media should have the same dimensions (height/width).
Validities: Limitation to a specific date/time window. If no selection is made, the display is not shown.
SOT banner
Clickable advertising or product banners specifically for self-order terminals can be added here to draw customers' attention to offers or specific products.
To create a clickable self-order terminal banner, select the "SOT banner" under "Display".
Example banner:

Description: Internal title for administration. The flag symbol can be used to enter content for several languages.
Banner image: An image is uploaded here.
Stores: Selection of the stores in which the banner is to be displayed.
Recommend an item: An item is entered here that should be displayed after the clickable banner, e.g. "French fries". Please make sure that all settings for the selected items are correct, as these will affect the visibility of the ad.
Recommend commodity group: Here you can alternatively enter a commodity group that should be displayed after the clickable banner, e.g. all "Desserts". Please make sure that all settings for the selected commodity group are correct, as this will affect the visibility of the ad.
Note: If an item and a commodity group are selected, the recommendation of the item has priority. If this is not valid for the SOT, the commodity group is recommended.
Display for commodity groups: The commodity group for which the ad is to be displayed is selected here, e.g. if the banner is to be displayed at the top for the "Salads" commodity group, select "Salads" here.
Validities: Limitation to a specific date/time window. If no selection is made, the ad will not be displayed.
