Half/half topping


What
A half/half topping is a variant in which different toppings are spread on one half of a product, e.g. the left half of a pizza is Pizza Salami and the right half is Pizza Funghi.

Where

Overview

There are two possible variants for implementing the half/half function:
  1. Menu with half/half selection
  2. Toppings individually per half

Option 1: Menu with half/half selection

Example

  1. Customers choose a half/half pizza from the menu.
  2. Each half can be individually topped with predefined pizzas, e.g. left half with Pizza Salami and right half with Pizza Funghi.




Set-up procedure

1. Create menu
  1. Create a new "Sales item" with the property "Menuunder Admin: Item > Item.
  2. Assign the item to a suitable commodity group under "Commodiy groups" and enter the corresponding amount under "Prices".




2. Activate half/half assignment
  1. Go to the "Menu" section
  2. Set the slider for "Activate half/half topping" to "Yes".
  3. Click on "Save and continue editing".



3. Define variants
  1. Now create the variants for the left and right halves (e.g. Pizza Margherita, Pizza Salami, Pizza Funghi...).
  2. To do this, click on the "Create menu" button for the first half.



  1. Enter a name, e.g. "1st half".
  2. Then enter the products that should be selectable for the first half under "Menu group item" (e.g. Pizza Margherita, Pizza Salami, Pizza Funghi...). You can enter the item number or the name to add an item.



  1. Once you have selected the items, click on "Save".
  2. Click on "New menu group" for the second half.



  1. Enter a name, e.g. "2nd half".
  2. Then enter the same products under "Menu group item" as for the first half. 
  3. Click on "Save".
  4. Click on "Save" again to save the item editing.

Option 2: Individual coverings per side

Example

  1. The customer selects a standard pizza and can choose the toppings for the left and right halves separately.
  2. In this example, a Margherita pizza is to be topped with mushrooms on the left half and artichokes on the right half.




Set-up procedure

1. Select sales item for left/right topping
  1. Select a sales item for which the left/right topping function is to be activated, e.g. Pizza Margherita, under Admin: Item > Item.
  2. This setting can be used to specify whether a topping should be placed on the left or right half of the product.

2. Activate topping function
  1. Under "Properties", deactivate the "No topping options" option by setting the slider to "No". This activates the left/right assignment for toppings.
  2. This setting is only relevant for the POS/cash register.
