Item exchange

Item exchange

What
With an item exchange, item data can be retrieved or transmitted between internal and external systems (e.g. Uber Eats, Foodora).

Where
Admin: Store > Article item exchange.

Items are exchanged via special accounts that are configured for the exchange of product information between internal and external systems.

In some cases, a delivery portal account is not sufficient to transfer all data from our system to external software (in this case, of course, it is only about items such as sales items, menus, etc.) - in this case, an item exchange account must also be created under Admin: Store > Article item exchange > Add article exchange account.

Alternatively, such an item exchange account can also be used to avoid having to manually mirror the items with the external provider, which speeds up the whole process.

The two most relevant examples of portals here are Uber Eats and Foodora.

Create article exchange account

The item exchange account is created under Admin: Store > Article item exchange > Add article exchange account.

Synchronize items

Here is an example of a created account for Uber Eats - please note the yellow button on the right "Sync items" which must be clicked manually to synchronize the items from our system to Uber Eats.

Start item exchange and export log files

It may be necessary to trigger synchronization in the corresponding menu (again) using the yellow "Start article exchange" button at the top - the successful and unsuccessful transfers can be viewed in the logs at the bottom and downloaded as ".json" files (readable with an "editor" program on the PC).

Uber Eats image requirements for article exchange (menu push)

For successful processing of item images at Uber Eats, they must meet the following specifications:
  1. File size < 25 MB
  2. JPG, WEBP or PNG format
  3. 320px ≤ width ≤ 6000px
  4. 320px ≤ height ≤ 6000px
