What
Delivery portal orders can be paused in the cash register.
Where
Admin: Store > Stores > Edit > Settings > Delivery and take away settings > Maximum number of open orders (for deliveries), until the option of switching off the portal. POS: Order overview. |
In the admin interface you can enter a numerical value greater than zero, from which point onwards the cash register interface will warn you to temporarily take the delivery portals offline.
If this order limit is reached, the option to manually deactivate the delivery portals will automatically appear in the cash register.
Activation in the Admin
This can be set under Admin: Store > Stores > Edit > Settings > Delivery and take away settings > Maximum number of open orders (for deliveries), until the option of switching off the portal.
This setting applies to the portals "Lieferando", "Delivery Hero", "Wolt", "Takeaway" and "UberEats".
Pausing at the POS (cash register)
At the cash register, the employee can decide independently whether he wants to pause the delivery portals.
To do this, they select one of the predefined times, for example 15 or 30 minutes. All portals that support this function (e.g. Lieferando) then automatically receive a closing command for the store.
The store on the portal will be reopened either automatically after the selected time has elapsed, or manually by clicking on the button "Open Portals" button that appears next to a countdown. Both the countdown and the button appear automatically after the "Close Portals" was pressed.
There may be delays between the portal closing in the cash register and the actual deactivation on the delivery portal. These delays depend on the respective delivery portal and cannot be influenced further.
Temporarily pausing delivery portals for a short period of time can be helpful to cushion peak loads in the kitchen or among drivers.
During the delivery portal pause, customers will not be able to place new orders through the portal.
In this way, backlogs in deliveries can be processed more efficiently without additional portal orders being received, which would lead to longer delivery times.
Experience has shown that short breaks of around 30 minutes are sufficient to mitigate such peak loads.
Before deactivating the portals, employees should consider the expected return time of the drivers and carefully consider whether a break is necessary.
