SIDES Pay Terminal OnReader Tipping

To improve usability, we have revised the navigation structure, which will be published soon. As part of this update, some terms have been adjusted and navigation items reorganized. This entry already uses the updated navigation structure. For more information about the new navigation, please refer to this overview.

What
By activating the tipping function in SIDES Pay, tipping options are displayed at the terminal.

Where
Admin: Global settings > Global store settings > Other settings > Webshop settings > Allow tips > Yes.


Activating the tipping function

In order for the tipping function to be available in the SIDES Pay Terminal, it must be activated in the central settings under Admin: Global settings > Gobal store settings > Other settings > Webshop settings > Allow tips > Select "Yes".




Tip levels setting

The tip levels determine which predefined tip amounts are displayed to the guest on the SIDES Pay payment terminal.

Selecting tip levels

1. Go to Admin: Store management > Stores > Edit > Settings > Tip.
2. Open the "Tip levels" field in the "Tip" area
3. Select one of the available options:
  1. 5%, 10%, 15% (default)
  2. 10%, 15%, 20%
4. Click on "Save".







NotesNote: It may take several minutes for the setting to take effect in the cash register. Usually no more than 5 minutes.

Procedure in SIDES Pay Terminal

If the tip function of the system is activated:
  1. The SIDES Pay Terminal displays predefined tip amounts that have been set via the tip levels. The options "No tip" and "User-defined" are also available.
  2. Alternatively, the tip amount can be entered in the cash register under "Partial payment" or "Change" and is transmitted to the terminal together with the order total. In this case, the tip suggestion is skipped.
It is not possible to individualize the values!
