Amount and voucher codes
Here you can specify how often the voucher can be redeemed and whether a customer account is required to redeem it.
Can be used any number of times: If this option is activated, the customer can redeem this voucher each time they place an order.
Requires registration: To redeem this voucher, the customer must have an account in the webshop and be logged in to redeem the voucher.
Once per client: This option appears as soon as the option "Can be used any number of times" has been activated. The customer must also be logged into the webshop to redeem this voucher. Registration is necessary to establish customer loyalty and thus to be able to document exactly whether the voucher has already been redeemed by the customer.
VIP coupon: This selection only appears if the option "Can be used any number of times" has been deactivated. VIP vouchers are particularly relevant for business customers who regularly receive a discount on every order. A VIP voucher can be created for this purpose, which must be activated by the customer within the validity period of the voucher. The VIP vouchers must first be activated in the global store settings under Admin: Store > Global store settings > Other settings > Coupon settings > Activate VIP coupon > Yes. Procedure for the VIP voucher: "No, regular coupon" is selected for the "Allowed for CRM" option. The "VIP coupon" option is then set to "Yes". In the next step, the time period for which the voucher is valid after activation is specified. Activation means that the customer must enter the voucher code in their customer account in their profile in the webshop and thus activate it, so that customer loyalty is also established here and the voucher cannot be redeemed by other customers. The customer should be informed that they must ensure that they log in with the same account for each order and can only then place their order.
Validities
The corresponding settings for the validity of the voucher are made in the following area.
Valid starting from order value of: The voucher can only be redeemed from the amount entered, e.g. €20.
Valid up to order value of: The voucher can be redeemed up to the amount entered, e.g. €50. This rule is useful if there are several vouchers with different values or if the voucher is only valid up to a certain amount. For example, a voucher with a value of €10 to €20 could be valid, while another voucher for amounts between €20 and €50 offers a greater discount. This can motivate the customer to choose a higher order quantity.
Valid for orders in advance (minutes): The information refers to the time period in minutes that must lie between the current time and the selected pre-order time for the voucher to be redeemed. If a fixed time ("Daily valid from") has been specified in the voucher, the voucher can only be redeemed from this time.
Example: The number 60 has been entered and no fixed time has been entered, and it is also 13:30. If the customer now places an order for immediate delivery in the webshop and enters the voucher code, they will receive a message that this voucher can only be redeemed from 60 minutes in advance, i.e. if the customer selects a later time for delivery that is more than 60 minutes in the future (e.g. 3:00 p.m.), then this voucher can be redeemed. This voucher can be used to reward customers for ordering at a later time.
Date - valid from: The voucher is only valid from the specified date.
Date - valid until: The voucher is only valid until the specified date. This can be used if a promotion is only valid in May, for example, then the date from May 1st to May 31st is entered.
Daily vaild from: The voucher can only be redeemed from the specified time.
Daily valid until: The voucher can only be redeemed up to the specified time. This option can be useful, for example, to enable discounts for the lunchtime offer. In this case, a specific time, such as 12:00 to 14:00, can be set during which the voucher is valid.
Incoming orders channel and outgoing orders channel: It can be specified where the voucher should be valid e.g. only in the webshop and only on pickup.
Valid on: It is possible to restrict the redemption of the voucher to certain days of the week or public holidays e.g. the voucher should only be valid on Monday.
Hide in lists: If this option is activated, the voucher will not be displayed in the cash register. It can then only be redeemed there using its code.
Can be combined with all other coupons: The default setting is that the voucher can be combined with all other vouchers. If you do not want the voucher to be combined with another voucher, you can deactivate this option. This means that only this one voucher can be entered.
If the option is deactivated, an additional, optional field will appear below it. Allowed combinations can be selected in this field if required. For example, if the voucher can only be combined with the lunch discount and not with the happy hour discount, the option for this voucher must be deactivated and then the lunch discount is selected under "Valid combinations".
Automatic coupon: If this option is activated, the voucher is automatically added to the shopping cart for all customers with every order. For example, a pick-up discount could be defined here that is only activated for the "Pickup" outgoing channel. If the customer then orders via pickup in the webshop, the voucher is automatically added to the shopping cart.
Remove delivery fee: If this option is activated, the delivery fee for this order is removed from the shopping cart, i.e. set to €0.00.
Retain minimum order value: If this option is activated, the final price including the deducted voucher must be above the minimum order value for the order to be completed.
New minimum order value: If a value is entered here, this is set as the new minimum order value. For example, if the number 10 is entered here, the voucher for free fries can be added to the shopping cart. However, the order can only be completed once the amount of €10 has reached. This is to prevent the customer from only being able to order the free fries. The number 0 removes the minimum order value.
The voucher can only be redeemed in the webshop via external portals (referrer URLs): Here, referrer URLs (several separated by spaces) can be entered via external (potentially own) URLs/providers, which are cross-checked when the voucher is redeemed. This can also increase the security of the codes or better track their use. The voucher can then only be redeemed in the webshop via the voucher URL if the voucher URL is accessed via the URLs entered here. The voucher can then no longer be redeemed in the app.
Example for the entry of a main domain: my-webshop.com
Example with subdomain: voucher.my-webshop.com
Example with protocol: https://voucher.my-webshop.com
Example with path: my-webshop.co.uk/voucher
Example of several URLs separated by spaces: my-webshop.com your-webshop.com
Stores where the voucher is valid
Here you can select individual stores where the voucher can be redeemed.
All stores can be selected at once using the "Invert store selection" button.
Redemption criterion commodity groups
In this section, you can define whether the voucher should be valid exclusively for a specific commodity group or in combination with several commodity groups. In addition, the minimum number of items that must be present in the shopping cart for the voucher to be valid can be defined here. If no selection is made here, the voucher can be redeemed regardless of the commodity groups.
In the cart needed: If the switch is set to "Yes" for a commodity group, then the voucher can only be redeemed for this commodity group, e.g. desserts. For example: The voucher with the free cookie can only be redeemed if there is a dessert in the shopping cart. If there is no dessert in the shopping cart, the voucher cannot be redeemed.
Minimum amount of items: This option only works in conjunction with the previous option "In the cart needed". This option can be used to specify how many items from the selected commodity group the customer must add to their shopping cart for the voucher to be valid. Example: If the customer places 3 burgers in the shopping cart, a voucher should be activated automatically. To do this, the setting for the "Automatic coupon" is set to "Yes". At the same time, the option "In the cart needed" is activated for the "Burgers" commodity group and the number 3 is entered as the "Minimum amount of items". The automatic voucher only becomes visible when the customer places 3 or more burgers in the shopping cart. If the order quantity is 2 burgers, the voucher is not activated. Another example: If the customer adds a dessert to the shopping cart, they should receive a free cookie. To do this, the option "In the cart needed" is activated for the "Dessert" commodity group and the number 1 is entered as the "Minimum amount of items". This fulfills the condition that there must be at least one dessert in the shopping cart in order to redeem the voucher code. It is also possible to make multiple selections. In this case, however, all conditions of the selected commodity groups and minimum number of items must be fulfilled for the voucher to be redeemed.
Use voucher link for online marketing
Vouchers can be added directly to the shopping cart via a link. This can be particularly interesting and effective for newsletters, banners etc. To activate this, the URL must be stored in the global store settings in the webshop and app area. This setting can be found under Admin: Store > Global store settings > Other settings > Webshop settings > URL for redeeming coupon code (webshop).
Once the link has been entered in the global store settings, the voucher can be created. Once the voucher has been created and saved, open the voucher again and click on the "Copy webshop URL" button. The voucher code is then in the clipboard and can be pasted into a Word document or the newsletter, for example.
